5 Ultimate Products For Your Winter Skincare Needs

Every month I am, as you are presented with a vast amount of beauty boxes to choose from all  claiming to be the best in what they do. I also get approached by a few skincare companies offering me to trial their beauty boxes, most of which unfortunately, I have to turn down, only because I honestly believe they could do better.

However, one box I never turn down every time they do ask me to do a review is mintd box.

As time has passed I have watched this luxury beauty box turn itself into a true market leader.

We have been indulged with new skincare beauty products that are high quality yet highly priced if bought directly from source, Mintd manage to bring us these products for a fraction of the price (thank you). Now my part is to be very open with you regardless of my relationship with the brands, I aim to be truthful with you when it comes to all my reviews and nothing is going to be different with my favourite Beauty Box.

By far, my most loved product this month has to be the  ILA SPA body balm for feeding skin & senses. Somehow it’s waxy consistency didn’t put me off at all, in fact I enjoyed rubbing it between my hands because as it warmed up and began to melt releasing the most beautiful scent. The scent stays with me throughout the day, yet surprisingly doesn’t interfere with my perfume.

The magical properties in this balm include:

Omega 3, 6 and 9 which are essential fatty acids that are highly anti –inflammatory. Rose geranium balances mind and body and is very good for conditioning where there is hormonal imbalance.  Essential fatty acids and antioxidants restore suppleness, uplift the senses and reveal a softer and brighter texture. I use this as a foot mask;body moisturiser for my knees and elbows for that extra boost of moisture, definitely a multi use product, so if you are going skii this Christmas, I just found your new best friend.

If you get this box to try only one thing let this be this body balm. It costs £51 for full-size which I was unable to find on ILA’s  website.

We all know that food is the best way to sustain good health, including skin health. However, if you are like me you are lucky if you get time to put anything in you mouth before lunch time, meaning that my anti ageing fight has already lost, and this is where food supplements come in  handy, not that they should replace a healthy diet, but only to supplement where I lack. I have talked about potions London before and this time I bring you their hyaluronic complex food supplements.

Hyaluronic Acid is a molecule found in the body which can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. As we age, natural levels fall by as much as 50%. Supplementing with Hyaluronic Acid can benefit the skin, joints, eyes and gums:

Skin: Almost half the body's Hyaluronic Acid is found in the collagen of your skin. It is the moisture retaining properties of Hyaluronic Acid which keep the skin hydrated and looking plump and smooth. Joints: Hyaluronic Acid is a major component of synovial fluid which reduces friction between joint cartilage and acts as a shock absorber and lubricant. People who exercise or have joint problems can benefit from taking a supplement. Eyes: Hyaluronic Acid is found in the vitreous fluid in the eyes. A supplement can help to alleviate certain dry eye problems. Gums: Hyaluronic Acid is an important connective tissue component in the gums and helps to regenerate fresh and healthy gum tissue. This powerful supplement also contains Vitamin C and MSM to support collagen function and formation for anti-ageing benefits, and is formulated to complement The Collagen Boost.

 £30 for 60 capsules

Rodial dragons blood velvet cream is suppose to be a luxuriously textured cream that offers multi dimensional hydration, unfortunately this cream has left me underwhelmed. Neither here nor there, it is great as a makeup primer in the morning. Over night I haven’t seen any dramatic difference to my skin, I don’t find it overly hydrating either. I am going to keep using this product till I finish it up, if anything changes I will do a separate write up and eat my words.

For now I am indifferent. Costs £75 for 50mls via  Rodial.

Tula probiotic skincare exfoliating treatment mask, now everyone needs this in their routine.

This mask is all about renewing and resurfacing the skin. Tula use probiotic technology that is amazing for all skin types. I find for me this mask brightens and minimises breakouts, it super charges my routine by allowing the other products that follow to penetrate depend into the skin revealing a  radiant and vibrant skin. It doesn’t only exfoliate but also feeds the skin with antioxidants vitamin A, C & E plus Omega 3 4 6 fatty acids.

To use this mask apply and massage into the skin to release the ingredients contained in the tiny exfoliating beads, which are not harmful to the environment.

Reveal the perfect post facial glow in the comfort of your own home. I am smitten, so much so that it’s taking every ounce in my body not to stock up on this exfoliating mask. Full size £38 for 50mls from QVC in the UK here

The African Botanics Marula hand cream, wow! Now, listen I have used their products before and they don’t come cheap so I quickly found affordable alternatives. But I promise you, if you do find a dupe of this hand cream that works as well, I will give you the title of beauty treasure hunter of the year.

Here is how this cream works, I apply it after washing my hands, right! Then I almost forget that I have applied a hand cream, go about my business as usually.

Then when I go on to wash my hands again I can feel the conditioning that has happened to my mitts, they are soft and enjoyable to touch as I am washing them. On the first wash I don’t even need to remoisturise, as the cream seems to stay put even after hand washing with soap. Though reapplication might be nessasary on the second hand wash depending on how often I wash my hands.

I never thought I would have so much to say about a hand cream, yet here we are and I could still go on. It is formulated using Swiss garden cress, Alpine rose plant stem cells, peptides,  hyaluronic acid plus a blend of wild harvested African oils and exotic butters. The combination of ingredients make this a deeply hydrating  and soothing hand cream that protects and repairs my hard working hands. Cost is £46 for 60mls from netaporter.
